Note
regarding the transliteration:
The place of a stress
indicating every new "breath group" (so-called rhythmic
group) is marked with the red line \. Words including only one
vowel are usually
incorporated in
one rhythmic group together with the following or
preceding word (depending on the position and syntactic
function) as e. g. in sentence 3 below.
ნინო - Nino-ø
Nominative. The stem Nino has no marker in the
Nominative because it ends in a vowel.
ცხოვრობს - cxovrobs lives
დიდ ბინაში -
did-ø bina-shi.
დიდ is an adjective presented
without any case marker. The Nominative is did-i.
The stem is did-: didi bina-ø (Nominative); did-ø bina-shi
(Dative with the postposition -shi; the dative
marker is completely reduced: did-s bina-s-shi
> did-ø
bina-ø-shi.
For practical purposes, it is enough to know that
the postposition -shi is used after the stems of
nouns.
