Prepositional Attributes

When an adjective and a noun are inflected, the noun takes case markers and/or postpositions, while adjectives ending in a vowel do not change the form, and adjectives ending in a consonant change the form partially.

Vocalic adjectives:
When an adjective and a noun are declined, if the adjective ends in a vowel, it does not change its form and remains unchanged in all cases:

Consonantal adjectives:
When an adjective and a noun are declined, if the adjective ends in a consonant, the noun takes the case markers and/or postpositions, while the adjective changes partially: The consonantal adjective takes case markers in the nominative, ergative, and vocative. In other cases, it is presented as a stem or takes the suffix -i.

If the suffix (a case marker or postposition) attached to a noun begins in the vowel -i, the adjective also takes the ending -i:
მაღალი ბიჭის maghal-i bich'-is
tall boy-Genitive
of the tall boy

მაღალი ბიჭისთვის maghal-i bich'-is-tvis
tall boy-Genitive -for
for the tall boy

მაღალი ბიჭისკენ maghal-i bich'-is-ken
tall boy-Genitive -to
to the direction where a tall boy is

If the suffix attached to the noun begins in any other sound than -i (usually, in a consonant or in the vowel -a), the adjective is presented as a stem without a nominative marker -i
მაღალი ბიჭის maghal bich'-s
tall boy-Dative
to the tall boy

Suffixes with the initial vowel -i- drop the initial -i when they are attached to nouns ending in the vowels -o or -u:
genitive case: bich'-is, but: gogo-s.

Consonantal adjectives retain the last -i in genitive even in this case:
Genitive: maghal-i bich'-is (Comp. dative: maghal bich'-s)
Genitive: maghal-i gogo-s (Comp. dative: maghal gogo-s)

Nominative:
